چکیده
Abstract Background Various grafting materials and different techniques have been used for myringoplasty. The aim of the study was to compare result tympanoplasty in patients with safe-type chronic suppurative otitis media using periosteum versus tragal cartilage perichondrium grafts through pre- postoperative clinical audiological evaluation. Results There statistically significant difference mean air-bone gap group A (23.4 dB ± 0.03 SD) when compared B (19.4 4.2 P value 0.103. Also, there hearing gain after 6 months (25.53 6.26 (19.63 9.76 0.003. Graft taken superior periosteal (95%), (90%). Conclusion Tympanoplasty graft showed better results high rates than grafts.

Reinforcement of Sliced Tragal Cartilage Perichondrium Composite Graft with Temporalis Fascia in Type I Tympanoplasty: Our Techniques and Results
In our otological practice, we prefer sliced tragal cartilageperichondrium grafting for reconstruction of the tympanic membrane perforations. In an attempt to reduce residual and recurrent perforations in our series of cartilage tympanoplasty using sliced tragal cartilage perichondrium composite graft, we reinforce tragal cartilage with temporalis fascia in large perforations. Aim: The purpose ...

The perforations of the tympanic membrane maybe of traumatic origin or due to chronic suppurative otitis media. If the perforations fail to heal conservatively, they require surgical closure. Autologous graft materials have stood the test of time in repairing tympanic membrane perforations. In our tertiary care institution we conducted a prospective randomized control trial on 50 subjects to ev...
متن کاملResults of Type I Tympanoplasty Using Fascia with or without Cartilage Reinforcement: 10 Years’ Experience
Introduction: There remains controversy about the optimal kind of graft to repair tympanic membrane. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the anatomical and auditory outcomes of type I tympanoplasty using fascia with or without cartilage reinforcement. Materials and Methods: This retrospective cohort study was conducted from 2005 to 2015. All cases were surgically treated by a single sur...
متن کاملComparative Outcome of Temporal Fascia and Tragal Cartilage Graft in Type 1 Tympanoplasty
Materials and method: One hundred and twenty patients who had undergone type 1 tympanoplasty using temporal fascia and tragal cartilage were retrospectively reviewed. Eighty seven patients underwent tympanoplasty using temporal fascia graft while in 33 patients, tragal cartilage with perichondrium was employed. Graft take up was analyzed at 6 weeks post-operatively, in both the groups. Pre-oper...
